Planning? Our next journey from our home in the state of Tasmania will be around May 2012. We intend to travel though the states of Victoria, New South Wales and then into Queensland with the objective to travel to the absolute tip of Australia, namely the tip of Cape York.
This is the most northern part of Australia and it will test our resolve to tackle the wilderness, rain forests and national parks along the way, not to mention some rugged terrain we will need to traverse.
It will not be possible to take our Motorhome all the way we will need to leave it at either Mareeba or Lakeland in Northern Queensland and then transfer to our four wheel drive Suzuki Grand Vitara for the journey to the top of the Cape.
Living in a Motorhome tends to spoil you with all the home style luxuries which you get to appreciate, even more so when you need to then go back to the old ways of camping with tents etc.
Given; on this trip we will be restricted as to how much equipment we can carry in the four wheel drive which will include a roof rack for extra's such as water, fuel etc, etc.
We will need to research the area in a positive manner and discuss the pro's and con's at length with friends and other persons who have completed the journey recently. We will meet new challenges as well as the dreaded crocodile and other dangerous reptiles etc.
